Infinite Orbits Luxembourg Selected for
Project HYDRA & ASIMOV
Infinite Orbits Luxembourg (LMO
Sarl) has been selected to participate in two major
European defence and security initiatives, HYDRA
(Hybrid Defence for Resilient Awareness in GEO) and
ASIMOV (Autonomous System for Inspection,
Maintenance, defence Operations and manoeuVres),
reinforcing its role in advancing sovereign European
capabilities for space security, orbital resilience,
and in-orbit operations.
These programme selections
reflect the growing strategic importance of
technologies such as Space Domain Awareness, orbital
inspection, rendezvous and proximity operations, and
autonomous spacecraft coordination.
As governments, defence
organisations and commercial operators become
increasingly dependent on assets in geostationary
orbit, protecting these systems is emerging as one
of the next major challenges in space security.
While space infrastructure underpins communications,
navigation and defence operations on Earth, the
ability to monitor and respond to threats in orbit
remains limited.
HYDRA will explore a new
approach: a cooperative network of spacecraft
capable of monitoring, characterising and responding
to potential threats around high-value orbital
assets. The concept builds on technologies at the
core of Infinite Orbits' expertise, including
orbital surveillance, inspection, rendezvous and
proximity operations.
The project brings together
Infinite Orbits Luxembourg, Integrasys and the
Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology
(LIST) to advance sovereign European capabilities
for Space Domain Awareness and orbital security from
Luxembourg. Through the integration of optical and
radio-frequency sensing, onboard processing and
inter-satellite coordination, HYDRA aims to lay the
foundations for future in-orbit protection services.
Selected under the European
Defence Fund 2025 programme, HYDRA reflects a
growing recognition that resilience in space is
becoming as important as access to space itself. For
Infinite Orbits, the project represents another step
towards enabling safer, more secure and more
sustainable operations in orbit.

The projects represent another
step in Infinite Orbits' ambition to grow its
activities in Luxembourg, where its Luxembourg-based
subsidiary is developing advanced capabilities for
space security, resilience, and next-generation
orbital operations
