AsiaSat 7 selected for SEANET’s VSAT network services in Myanmar

1 June 2016

AsiaSat and SEANET Myanmar have signed a contract for VSAT network services in Myanmar using AsiaSat 7 Ku-band capacity. SEANET will be one of Myanmar’s pioneering operators offering broadband data services on an AsiaSat satellite.

AsiaSat 7’s high-power Ku-band coverage over Myanmar will support SEANET’s nationwide VSAT network for a wide array of broadband internet, enterprise solutions and data connectivity services for its corporate, SME, government and NGO clients.
“Quality transponder capacity from AsiaSat boosts our capability to deliver reliable, high speed and cost effective satellite services to meet our customers’ requirements. AsiaSat 7’s coverage and high look angle enable us to provide high quality service anywhere in Myanmar including the most remote and mountainous regions,” said U Pyone Maung Maung, Managing Director of SEANET Myanmar. “We look forward to beginning commercial rollout of our service in June leveraging AsiaSat’s over 25 years of VSAT expertise and experience in Asia.”

“We are pleased that our client appreciates our extensive experience in providing quality and reliable services. This contract with SEANET once again demonstrates AsiaSat’s capability and flexibility in supporting our partners with cost effective satellite solutions,” said Philip Balaam, Vice President – Sales and Business Development of AsiaSat.
