XipLink Wins Cable & Wireless Communications Net

March 15, 2010

Cable and Wireless Communications has selected and deployed XipLink XA appliances into various networks at remote islands of the South Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The Internet access applications run at several speeds, typically up to 16 Megabits per second over asymmetrical SCPC links, with XipLink SCPS standards-based acceleration insuring near 100% capacity and X1/X2 advanced compression. Integrated Web optimizations help insure snappy responses to residents and business of the islands. When combining these features throughput over the network more than doubled.

XipLink’s XA-Series appliances include a range of industrial computing engines that scale for wireless carriers from 2 Mbps to high-performance systems running at 155 Mbps, with the best capital cost ratio in the industry. For mobile users, XipLink also offers the XS family of specialty devices, including the palm-sized XipStick™ for MSS and mobile military VSAT requirements as well as the XS-104 single board computer for PC-104 rugged computing on the move.

“We are delighted with our selection by Cable and Wireless” says Jack Waters, CEO of XipLink. “Our business model calls for replacement of obsolete acceleration appliances with higher efficiency wireless link optimization products and this network is proof that the cost efficiencies of the XipLink XA appliances will pay for themselves in the matter of months”.
