Atlantic Microwave,
A Division Of ETL Systems Wins Order From US Defense
Contractor
Atlantic Microwave recently
secured a contract with a US defense contractor for
their Drone Payload Satellite Simulator.
Atlantic Microwave’s Drone
Payload Satellite Simulators allow operators to test
the alignment, quality and performance levels of RF
signals without requiring a live satellite link;
this is particularly beneficial for testing in
mobile environments, such as on ships or aircraft.
Inner Harbor Technical Sales,
Atlantic Microwave’s US East Coast representative,
was able to provide on-the-ground support to the
customer, facilitating the project from within the
USA. By utilising Atlantic Microwave’s integrated
system, the customer was able to mitigate risk and
increase testing efficiency on several antenna
programs.
Both the drone and transmitter
are being used for mobile and fixed antenna mount
model calibration, G/T testing, and satellite
surrogate tracking demonstrations. The precise
nature of Ka-band waveforms requires high accuracy
pointing, which Atlantic Microwave’s product was
able to offer.
Without Atlantic Microwave's
reliable and consistent system, the customer would
have faced expensive alternatives to test antenna
capabilities and mitigate risk, such as hiring time
on live satellites.
Throughout the scoping
discussions for the project, Atlantic Microwave
provided an expert solutioneering approach to ensure
the end product would precisely fit the customer’s
requirements.
Taylor Pritchett, Sales Manager
at Atlantic Microwave, commented: “I am pleased the
RF engineering team chose to work with Atlantic
Microwave. We were able to work with the customer
and choose a solution that exactly met their
requirements, saving them time and money.”
