Comtech EF Data Corp.,
which is part of Comtech’s Commercial Solutions
segment, received a $1.5 million order for
Single Channel Per Carrier (“SCPC”) satellite
modems from a Tier 1 defense contractor. The
satellite modems will be utilized by a defense
entity to upgrade and expand its existing

long-performing CDM-625 Satellite Modems by
Comtech EF Data.
Following an extensive
technical evaluation and battery of tests, the
customer selected Comtech EF Data’s CDM-625A
Advanced Satellite Modem as the platform for its
network upgrade and expansion. The defense
entity will benefit from the range of advanced
features available in the CDM-625A, including
DoubleTalk® Carrier-in-Carrier® bandwidth
compression, Carrier-in-Carrier Automatic Power
Control, 4-port 10/100Base-T managed Ethernet
switch with VLAN capability and embedded
priority-based Quality of Service.
“The CDM-625A Advanced
Satellite Modem builds on our legacy of
providing the most efficient and reliable
satellite modems,” commented Fred Kornberg,
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive
Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp.
“Migrating to the latest generation modem will
enable additional bandwidth efficiencies and
link optimization to be realized by this
customer.”
