GAZPROM Announces the Tender for Yamal-400 Satellites Manufacturing

GAZPROM announces an open Tender for the right to enter into a turnkey agreement for delivery of two Yamal-400 communication satellites for Gascom needs.

Satellite operator Gascom (GAZPROM Group) currently operates the orbital group of three communication satellites – Yamal-100, Yamal-201 and Yamal-202. Two new Yamal-300 satellites to be launched in 2009 are under construction at RSC Energia plant.

Creation of Yamal-400 satellites is the next step in implementing the Prospective Plan for Gascom Satellite Business Development till 2015 approved by the company’s Board of Directors.

Yamal-400 satellites are scheduled for the launch in 2011.

They will be twice more powerful than their predecessors.

Running its business both on the Russian and international markets Gascom is one of the two Russian satellite operators. The company provides satellite capacity, telecommunication services and deploys satellite telecommunication networks. In 2007 Gascom’s revenue amounted to 69.8 million US$ increasing by 48% in comparison with 2006. A quarter of the revenue came from the international clients.
