profit

cent,

70.6

euros
The
satellite
operator´s
revenue,
boosted
by
its
internationalization
and
the
diversification
of
its
business
lines,
surpasses
150
million
euros.
The
company´s
EBITDA
rose
to
more
than
116
million
euros,
with
profit
and
efficiency
levels
that
position
HISPASAT
as
one
of
the
world´s
most
important
satellite
operators.
HISPASAT
pays
a
new
historic
dividend
of
12.2
million
euros.
The
successful
launch
of
Amazonas
2,
the
satellite
with
the
broadest
coverage
over
the
American
continent,
reinforces
HISPASAT´s
presence
in
America
and
strengthens
its
leadership
on
this
continent.
At
the
close
of
fiscal
year
2009,
HISPASAT,
the
world´s
seventh
satellite
operator
by
revenue,
reported
the
best
operations
and
financial
results
of
its
history,
beating
its
goals
and
forecasts
for
the
fifth
year
in a
row.
Consolidated
net
profit
was
70.6
million
euros
at
the
close
of
2009,
a
50.3
per
cent
increase
with
respect
to
2008
for
this
leading
operator
in
the
broadcast
and
distribution
of
Spanish
and
Portuguese
channels.

first
milestone
was
the

The
total
amount
of
accumulated
revenue
for
the
HISPASAT
Group
as
of
31
December,
2009
was
150.8
million
euros,
doubling
that
obtained
in
2004.
Of
that
total,
147.9
million
euros
were
attributable
to
space
capacity
revenue,
of
which
100.8
million
euros
were
obtained
from
the
30º
West
orbital
position.
The
revenue
generated
from
the
61º
West
position
surpassed
47.1
million
euros
at
the
close
of
the
fiscal
year.
