Malaysian
Satellite Operator ScopeTel
Standardizes Services On iDirect
Platform
April 29, 2008
iDirect, Inc announced a contract
with ScopeTel Sdn. Bhd., a major
provider of satellite-based
telecommunication and networking
solutions headquartered in Malaysia. The contract includes the
purchase of an iDirect Series 15000
Universal Hub, Web Optimizer and
multiple iNFINITI 3000 and iNFINITI
5000 Series Satellite Routers.
ScopeTel will
consolidate its current customer
networks onto iDirect’s satellite
communications platform in an effort
to increase bandwidth efficiency and
simplify network management. The
operator will replace its Single
Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) systems
with a shared Time Division Multiple
Access (TDMA) platform and integrate
customer networks that span multiple
topologies and vertical markets,
including the maritime, oil and gas,
enterprise, government and education
sectors. In addition, ScopeTel plans
to leverage the iDirect platform to
support virtual network operators (VNOs)
across Southeast
Asia
that are seeking to establish
private satellite networks in the
region.
“By
standardizing on the iDirect
platform, ScopeTel is able to reduce
its operating expenses and expand
into growing markets through
critical new functionality. This
important decision is a strategic
investment in the future of our
business.” ~ En. Abdul Rahman
SHAKOR, President and CEO, ScopeTel
Sdn. Bhd.
“ScopeTel
serves an array of industries that
are vital to the region’s
prosperity. iDirect looks forward to
helping ScopeTel expand its services
and contribute to the economic
growth of
Malaysia and Southeast Asia.” ~ Richard ALWANI, Sales Director, South
East Asia, iDirect
