Apr 29, 2008

ICO has reached an agreement with Discovery Communications, LLC, to provide content for the alpha trials of its mobile interactive media service, known as ICO mim. ICO mim is a fully interactive mobile video, navigation and emergency assistance service powered by the ICO G1 satellite, which launched on April 14, 2008. The trials will take place in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and Las Vegas, Nevada starting in late summer 2008.

Under the agreement, ICO may select up to three channels for its lineup of live mobile television trials. The channels available for the ICO mim trials include Discovery Channel, TLC and Discovery Kids. ICO previously announced an agreement with NBC Universal to provide content for its alpha trials.

"ICO mim will be known for the variety and quality of its programming," commented Tim Bryan, chief executive officer for ICO, "and we're pleased to offer the breadth of first-class programming Discovery will bring to our service."
