Blue Sky
Network Brings Flight Tracking to
Brazil’s
Largest Offshore Fleet
Blue Sky Network, announced that
Líder
Aviação
deployed Blue Sky Network’s
solutions on its Bell and Sikorsky
helicopters. With 40 aircraft, Líder
Aviação
is the largest offshore helicopter
fleet in Brazil, contracting for
major oil companies including Shell,
Exxon Mobil and Petrobras.
To solve rising security concerns
by major oil company customers and
improve operational efficiency, Líder
outfitted its Bell-212, Sikorsky
S76C+ and Bell 412 aircraft with
Blue Sky Network’s
D1000C global flight tracking
transceiver.
Integrated with Blue Sky Network’s
SkyRouter asset management portal,
the D1000C Iridium transceiver
offers Líder
security features such as altitude
adjusted position reporting, minimum
en-route altitude alerting, and
automated take-off and landing
notifications. Additional logistic
features including trip planning and
event reporting are also available
to keep Líder
in full control of its helicopter
fleet at all times.
Líder
selected Blue Sky Network’s
advanced and easy-to-use technology
after months of researching the best
satellite tracking equipment.
Previous methods of radio-based
flight following have become too
imprecise and inefficient, driving a
demand from Líder
as well as their large customers for
the latest satellite tracking
systems.
“With
the Blue Sky Network tracking system
in place, our pilots can focus on
completing trips safely and
effectively, without having to
constantly report their location
manually via radio,”
said Rafael Ramos, flight safety and
HSE manager for Líder
Aviação.
“Utilizing
the advanced technology of Blue Sky
Network also adds to our reputation
of providing the best quality
offshore fleet services.”
“Líder’s
selection of our equipment
highlights that we are offering the
most advanced and reliable tracking
solutions on the market,”
said Jon Gilbert, president, founder
and CEO of Blue Sky Network.
“We are
honored to be chosen by one of South
America’s
largest helicopter operators and
look forward to working closely with
them to streamline and increase
safety of its business operations.”
