Crawford Announces Agreement With The U.S. Military’s Digital Video Imagery Distribution System

June 24, 2008

Crawford Communications, Inc. announces a long-term agreement to provide content aggregation, media relations, Internet and satellite services for the U.S. military’s Digital Video and Imagery Distribution System (DVIDS). Its mission is to provide a reliable connection between the global media and the military.

DVIDS is a network of 106 portable Ku-band transmitters located with deployed military units and a central distribution hub located at Crawford’s teleport. In addition to the core media and distribution services, the Company provides training classes; staffing; analysis; Web support; and video and print editing services. Also, Crawford offers an asset management solution for the project’s extensive content library.

“Crawford Communications is an essential partner with the military as we strive to fulfill our obligation to connect the American people to their troops in this fast-paced global information environment,” said U.S. Army Lt. Col. Nathaniel Flegler, DVIDS director of operations for the military. “We have worked with Crawford for the last four years as we established the Digital Video and Imagery Distribution System, and when it came time for a new contract, the Company’s unique mix of satellite and media services, cutting-edge technology and some of the best technical experts in the business, really stood out.”
