HUGHES Awarded State of New York Telecommunications Services Contract

Hughes Network Systems, LLC has been selected by the State of New York to provide a suite of managed services and connectivity under the Comprehensive Telecommunications Services contract, Group 77017, Award 20268. This Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is for a term of seven years, and enables authorized users, such as statewide agencies, local governments, and eligible non-profit, educational, and charitable organizations, to purchase telecommunications services provided by Hughes.

 

"Hughes is proud to provide our wide range of HughesNet® satellite broadband services and managed network solutions to the authorized users in New York State," said Tony Bardo, assistant vice president for government solutions at Hughes. "This IDIQ contract opens the door for them to readily acquire critical applications and services such as continuity of operations, homeland security, distance learning, telework, telemedicine, and more."

 

Under the Comprehensive Telecommunications Services IDIQ, Hughes is able to provide the following services statewide:

 

Connectivity services, including Digital Subscriber Line (xDSL), cable-based broadband and fixed wireless;

 

Managed services, including access continuity and Internet access;

 

Satellite services and solutions, including Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSAT), space segment and mobile satellite services;

 

Equipment, installation, operations, and maintenance support.
